Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry sponsors on Tuesday 29/11/1430H (corresponding to 17 November 2009) a series of lectures on the importance of mergers and acquisitions to businesses by Dr. Tawfiq Abdulaziz Al Suwailem, economic adviser and director of Dar Al Khaleej for Economic Research and Consulting. The lecturer will review the factors justifying the importance of encouraging mergers and acquisitions in the production and services sectors of the economy and addresses the emergence of the need to form large economic entities capable of competing with global giants and achieving profit and growth. The lecturer will also assess the level of mergers and economic blocs of our national institutions and compare them to their counterparts in the global markets. Further, he will tackle the implications of the global financial crisis on the global economy since September last year, the impacts and repercussions of which are still echoing to date.
